Carpet Cleaning Machines to hire
Is renting a carpet cleaning machine worth it?
When renting machines to clean either your carpets or upholstery, there are risks.
1/ You are working with machinery which may seem easy to operate.
2/ Collection and return of the equipment
3/ Purchasing the cleaning solutions besides the rental cost.
4/ You carrying out the work.
Whilst this may sound like an easy and cheap method to clean one’s property, take into consideration the following.
1/ What material am I dealing with?
2/ Will it shrink if I wet clean it?
3/ How long will it take to dry?
4/ If a smell starts, how do I rectify that?
5/ Why can’t I remove the stains?
The actual rental costs in 2024 are:
Hire for one day £14.99
Shampoo £14.99
Pet odour Solution £ 8.99
Stain Remover £8.99
Coffee Remover £9.99
So let’s say your outlay alone is £54.00
And this is to clean your lounge and stairs.
The time to complete our guesstimate would be 3 plus hours.
Drying time. We have known carpets to still be damp 3 days later.
Compare this to the cost of our company charge
£60 for a standard lounge
£35 for stairs and landing Total £95.
Water temperature can reach steam vapour levels, and water pressure for carpets can go up to 400psi. We can go a lot higher if ever needed, but compare that to your rental machine delivering a maximum of 30psi.
Time to complete- Two hours
Carpets dry in about 2-3 hours.
The disadvantage for either the residential or commercial customer is that if they get it wrong, it can be costly and inconvenient.
We receive enquiries advising what they have done. Smells are lingering and getting stronger.
Sometimes just a powerful steam clean with deodorisers is sufficient. There are occasions when the underlay needs to be replaced.
